Pumpkin School

Colin is feeling better after a bout with croup. He missed the first two days of school this week, but was feeling well enough to go on the class trip to the pumpkin farm today.

We started with a walk to the pumpkin patch. Each kid got to pick a pie pumpkin. The girls helped Colin look for his.

Then we all attended pumpkin school and learned about all kinds of interesting pumpkins, like the Cinderella pumpkin, the peanut pumpkin, and cotton candy pumpkin. We also learned that the biggest pumpkin ever was just over 1 ton.

After school, the class sat down for a donut and apple juice snack.  Julia, Caroline, and I bought our own donuts to enjoy too.

We finished the afternoon playing in the hay maze and corn box. Everyone had fun and it was nice to be out of the house, even if it was a little chilly.
