The metro parks held a Pirate Nature Scavenger Hunt today at Glacier Ridge Park. The kids got to walk the plank, make an eye patch necklace, play musical islands, and Captain Hook says.
After the games, we walked through the woods looking for items to complete our scavenger hunt list. We needed an 'x' marks the spot of fallen branches, something shiny like gold, something heavy enough to be an anchor, a feather, and several other things. Luckily it was a big group scavenger hunt. So all items were found.
Afterwards, each child got a gold doubloon. Julia thought the park ranger said balloon. She was only mildly disappointed.

What a great event, what fun! Might Colin be wearing his shark's tooth necklace? See you SOON!
ReplyDeleteLove your clever beginning to this post! Pirates must be a popluar theme these days. I like when the girls wear shirts with their names on them, don't have to try and guess who's who! Glad Julia wasn't to disappointed about not getting a balloon. Keep up the good work girls!
