Solo At The Pool

Colin has been attending Safety City in the mornings this week.  He seems to like it and even has a couple of old friends from swim lessons and preschool there with him.  So far he has learned about bus safety, crossing streets, and when to (and not to) call 911.  It's been kind of nice having some time with just the girls again (it would be wrong of me to say without Colin, right?).

This afternoon we headed to the pool. It was my first time taking all three alone. It went pretty well.  Luckily Colin is still happy playing in the shallow waters.  Since Julia and Caroline like to play together, I only had to keep an eye on two spots at once.

After our second lifeguard enforced break, Maggie showed up in her suit for some fun.  We had a nice (cheap, $8.50) dinner of concession food and had time for an hour more of water play. Colin is tall enough to ride the water slide this year, with an adult.  Or alone if he passes a swim test (which he did not).  So he was happy to have another parent to ride with.

A good afternoon and evening.  One I hope to repeat often this summer.

  1. A great post and a big nod to you, Keith, for taking all three to the pool. Then Mama appears ready for fun and that slide looks awesome. Colin has plenty of time to manage that on his own.
Concession food in moderation is wonderful. :-) Summer is just so grand!
