Guten Hump Day

Day 3 of solo parenting and everyone is still alive and well.  Yesterday the girls and I went to Home Depot and Sams Club during soccer camp.  We spent the rainy afternoon hanging out at home reading, playing games, and playing in the basement.

Today we took Colin to camp, as usual.  The kids at his camp range in age from Colin up to a 12 year old girl.  It's a little weird to take him somewhere that he is the youngest and smallest (or one of the smallest people) there.  He says he is having fun though and tells me about all the games they are doing to develop their skills.  And he said he wished he had 10 more days of camp.

The girls always want to stay and watch when we drop him off.

The last two evenings after dinner we have been playing games on the porch.  Last night was R2D2 is in Trouble (a Star Wars version of Trouble).  Tonight was Candy Land and Snug as a Bug in a Rug.  It's been raining a lot still.  So this is the closest we can get to playing outside after dinner lately.

Bedtime has been the hardest, though not really too bad.  Some nights we all four shower.  It's a tight fit.  Some nights just Colin.  Tonight was a big tub for the kids.  Nobody seems to mind the change of bedtime routine.

  1. Been watching for a post to see how you're doing and you're doing all the best! So glad Colin likes camp so much, what a great pic of him and of the girls on the bench. Changing routines can be lots of fun, an adventure to be sure.
