Duck Pond and Storytime

We took a nice walk to the duck pond today. It was sunny and warm when we left, but got cloudy by the time we were home. Colin and I both wore shorts for the first time this year. Colin told me lots of stories on the walk, only some of which I could follow.

At the pond, we looked for frogs and fish, but couldn't see much today in the water since it was windy. Colin told me all about the sections of the lake where the baby crabs, dolphins, sharks, and giant water snakes live.

Then as we walked past the middle school, Colin told me about how when he was 1 year old, he and mom used to ride a tiny bus down the path to the school. He also told me that this was after he was in Grandma's tummy. I reminded him that he was in mommy's tummy, not grandma's. To which he responded that this was a long time ago, when the dinosaurs were dying.

As we rounded the turn onto Phoenix Park Drive, Colin started telling me about Harry Jeff. When I asked who that was, he said it was his brother. So naturally I asked who his mom was, just to test Colin's logic. He said his mom is Harry Minnie and that he used to live by grandma and grandpa in the house with a car mailbox, but now he lives at a house with a normal post office on Phoenix Park.

Unfortunately that was the last story before we got home. It was too bad he was telling me these as he rode his bike. I'm sure I missed some of the best parts.
