Today was kid to work day at Cardinal. Even though the kids were too young to participate, Maggie wanted to bring them in and show them off, plus it was a good reason for me to see some old colleagues. So after breakfast, the kids and I loaded in the van, went to Tim Horton's to get some doughnuts, and headed to work.
It's been 11 months since I worked and have seen some of the people there. It seemed pretty normal just going as a visitor. My old boss loves seeing the kids and she and Colin exchanged gifts (a Mickey Mouse watercolor in exchange for a cool journal notebook). The girls were good and didn't fuss while being held by multiple strangers. Colin liked talking to people, of course, and also really liked his timbits and doughnut. It was a good visit and very different than the last time I was there.
