Cabin Fever

WARNING: If you do not answer to Maggie, Meme, or Grandma, this could be extremely boring.

It's another cold day in Ohio.  Schools are closed because of the chilly temperatures.  We haven't spent much time out of the house lately and today is another day inside.  What will we do?

10:00 AM : It's mid-morning and the kids are not yet dressed and I am in my comfy clothes.  So far there has been a lightsaber battle, blanket boats, and we made some yummy treats with Colin's chocolate pot (thanks Grandma).

Now it's off to the basement for a jog for daddy.

11:15 AM : During my four miles, there were five stops, four dispute settlements, one nose wipe and some imaginations at work.  The kids made a tiny community of tiny houses and vehicles.  They each had their own place to live, complete with food.  They built and ran an obstacle course.  Then they packed some bags, built a plane, and headed off to Indiana.

While I showered, I let Super Why babysit.  Parent of the year...maybe not.

11:45 AM : Everyone is dressed.  There was a dance party in Colin's room.  Now it's time to make lunch (and start some laundry).

12:45 PM : We finished lunch with Mom. She got to enjoy a short variety act (magic and gymnastics) before heading back to work.

1:15 PM : Nap time...yeah right.  Looks like more gymnastics and dance party to me.  At least Colin is playing quietly.  He is preparing a play-dough bakery for me.

1:55 PM : Julia falls out of her crib.  Nobody has climbed out in months, but I guess the gymnastics went too far this time.  Only minor tears.  Luckily we have been planning to get the big girl beds setup soon.

2:30 PM : No napping today.  Colin and I had a couple of failed experiments while the girls were laying down.  We tried blowing bubbles out of the back door to see if they would freeze, but they only popped.  We also tried a balloon experiment to watch it deflate in the cold and re-inflate when brought back inside, but it just wanted to blow away on the deck.

2:45 PM : Down to the basement.  We played a few board games.

Then we followed that up with a dunk contest.  I'm pretty sure I was robbed, but Colin says he won.

3:30 PM : Snack time!

3:45 PM : Mobi-Go for all.  Guess I'll work on the grocery list.

5:00 PM : Mom is home early and we started making some dinner.  She has a date with Aunt Nancy tonight.  So the rest of us are dining on English muffin pizzas and frozen veggies.

6:15 PM : Dinner has been eaten, dishes have been washed, the living room limbo contest is over, and Mom is off to meet her date.  Headed to the basement for more fun.

7:00 PM : The fun is over.  It's time to brush teeth and get ready for bed.

8:00 PM : I'm officially off the clock. Time to turn on the IU game.
