After her effort, this week had been going great. Other than the occasional diaper change, I didn't have to do anything and they both napped Monday through Wednesday. Today the streak ended.
I heard several rounds of Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer at first. Then I saw them holding their curtains and naming the colors. There was a moment when Caroline got upset at Julia for not giving her a turn to say the colors, but they seemed to work it out. But my favorite nap alternative I heard from them today was Caroline repeatedly belting out Let it Go and then saying "I look like Elsa". Colin told them that they look like Elsa with their hair braids.
The good news about no naps is that I don't think we will have to make any evening trips upstairs to wipe noses or cover up feet. There have been a few nights this week when the girls were still awake after 9:00.
Oh, I cannot remember all of the nap trauma and Maggie told me the girls had taken good naps for three days in a row and I don't think I responded to that. It is wonderful and good when they take naps, of course, but it is fun for us to read about what they're up to when they don't. Yes, without naps they'll be more tired at bedtime, but may be cranky too. It is all a most wonderful adventure!
