Skiing in the Snow

Today was Julia and Caroline's third ski lesson. I was a little unsure last night, and even early this morning, if we would make it or not. Colin has had a pretty fierce cold and it seems like he passed it on to Caroline. She woke up once in the middle of the night for more medicine. So I figured our chances were iffy at best, but she was a trooper and decided she still wanted to go.

I think a big part of the motivation for going today was her new emoji thermal underwear. Both girls didn't want to take it off last night after trying it on and ran around the house yelling "emoji" over and over.

Regardless of the motivation reason, the girls both did very well today. Julia commented during our hot chocolate break that she had gone up the magic carpet (the surface lift, like a moving sidewalk) more times before break than she usually does the whole lesson. One of their instructors said a similar thing to me when it was all over. She said they did a lot of runs. Every time she turned around here comes Julia and Caroline again.

It even snowed today! It wasn't enough to accumulate much, but it was sure pretty to look at and nice to ski in. I also made some progress and did a few runs off one of the lifts. It was fun, but meant I missed some of their lesson. Here's a little of what I did see. Only one more lesson left.

Just so you know, Caroline was just fine.
