Weekend Work

Maggie's project team has their second go-live this weekend. She had to work overnight last night. Then try to catch up on some sleep during the day today. All so that she could go back into work again tonight, though luckily not overnight this time.

While Mama tried to sleep, the kids and I had a day out on the town. I'm guessing sleep would not have come too easily with three kids hanging around the house. Our first stop this morning was at Buckeye Donuts. The kids all enjoyed, what else but, a buckeye donut and I had a good blueberry cake donut. I always thought that JayC had the best cake donuts, but I might have had my mind changed today. We also brought a donut home for Maggie.

Our next stop was at the Columbus library main branch. It was renovated a year or two ago, and we hadn't seen it yet. We spent most of our time in the children's section, including attending a story time.

The next stop was for lunch. Colin had an old Chick-fil-a free meal card. So we decided to dine there.  I had to go with a couple of sides to avoid chicken, but I think everyone enjoyed their lunch.

Our final stop was Kohl's. Two of the three kids needed new shoes, and the other one got a new pair too. I was impressed with how well everyone behaved for our day out. It was not filled with fun activities and snacks, though a couple were sprinkled in, and everyone kept their cool.

After our day out, we did get to see Maggie for an hour or two before she headed back to work and the kids and I headed off to Colin's basketball game. We're all hoping for a relaxing Super Bowl Sunday tomorrow.
